Many Hands Make Light Work: A Greeley Story

Many Hands Make Light Work: A Greeley Story

We’ve all heard the phrase “Many hands make light work,” but as a realtor in Greeley, I see evidence of this mentality all the time. It’s one of the things I love most about living here — our community spirit is unmatched.

To give you an example, I recently worked with brand-new homeowners Matthew and Vanessa. They and their family are absolute rockstars for so many reasons, not the least of which is their dedication to their dreams.

Going into the homebuying process, Matthew and Vanessa had a solid plan. They knew exactly what they wanted and were financially ready to chase it. To be honest, finding the right house for them was the easy part!

But then, we hit a dreaded bump in the road.

When the appraisal came back, we discovered that some painting needed to be done. The seller agreed to take care of it, so we thought we were in the clear. Unfortunately, we thought wrong.

The day before closing, we discovered that the painting hadn’t been completed. So, with movers scheduled to arrive in 24 hours, we had to get creative.

Armed with paintbrushes and a whole lot of determination, the lender, James Clifford, and I put on our painting clothes and headed over to the property. We worked late into the night, but it soon became clear that we needed more hands on deck.

That’s when I made the tough call to Matthew and Vanessa, asking if they could come over and paint with us. (Remember, at this point, they don’t even officially own the home yet!)

And here’s why this couple is amazing: they didn’t hesitate for even a moment. They rallied their whole family, showed up bright and early on closing day, and helped finish the job. I mean, seriously — how fantastic is that?

Days like this remind me why I love what I do. Being immersed in a spirit of teamwork is such a joy, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of this experience.

That said, here’s to new beginnings and the beautiful memories that Matthew, Vanessa, and their family will make in their freshly painted home. Congratulations all!
